Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani is one of the most renowned fashion designers to come out of Italy. Armani is renowned for men's wear and his high attention to detail. Armani was formed as a company in 1975, and since then, has become one of the most profitable names in the fashion industry. The annual turnover of Armani is estimated to be $1.6 billion dollars, while Giorgio Armani himself is estimated to be worth over $5 billion dollars.

Armani began his successful career working as an assistant designer at Nino Cerruti, a fashion house in Italy. After working there for over 9 years, Armani decided to leave the fashion house and become a freelance designer. After pursuing that endeavor for a few years, Armani partnered with Sergio Galeotti to establish a new label in 1974. Together, Armani and Galeotti created Armani, the menswear collection. A year later Galeotti and Armani added a womenswear collection to the fashion label.

Armani became instantly famous after outfitting Richard Gere in the film "American Gigolo." Some of the most famous celebrities who have worn Armani are Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and even the ever-stylish Lady Gaga. Armani can create looks that are beautifully classic, or more modern pieces (like those worn by Lady Gaga) that are stunning for their creative brilliance.

The Armani empire encompasses a whole host of fashion products. Armani creates fashion accessories, ready-to-wear collections, fragrances, jewelry, and cosmetics. Armani also creates home interiors, eye glasses, and watches.

Giorgio Armani has even created separate companies within his Armani empire. The higher-end labels he has created include Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, and Emporio Armani. Armani's more affordable fashion collections include Armani Jeans, Armani Junior, and Armani Exchange. His home interiors label is Armani Casa.

With hard work, Giorgio Armani went from a freelance designer to an owner of an entire empire and couture fashion line. Armani is a true example of fame, success, and fortune in the fashion industry.
