Q Management operates in both New York and Los Angeles. Their client lists includes a who's-who of fashion, movies, music and more. The agency is considered one of the first to fully incorporate a web-based presence into the active recruitment and promotion of new talent.
Q Management formed in New York in 1998, opening its doors in trendy Soho. Founder Jeffrey Kosrud brought a new vision to the talent agency business: look for progressive agents who can spot and develop unique talent, including models who might have been rejected by other agencies. Just one year later in 1999, the agency expanded by opening a Los Angeles branch.
Among Q Management's clients are Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron, model Ivana Milicevic, actress/model Izabella Miko, model Silvia Peretzki and actress/model Kiera Chapman. Q's models have appeared in ads for Garnier hair care, Buffalo jeans, Smashbox cosmetics, DKNY fragrance, Penguin clothing, Aveda haircare, Paul Smith clothing and more.
The agency was profiled for the weekly MSNBC documentary series "Models NYC." The show highlighted the experiences of twelve models and their agents as the girls tried to make it to the big time in the Big Apple. The four-episode series aired in 2007, and provided a glimpse into owner Jeffrey Kosrud's management style. When asked by MSNBC what he looks for in new models and talent, he cited the all-important "it factor," a certain something that just stands out about a person.
Working with Q
Q holds weekly open calls at their New York office. They also accept emailed photographs, following the specifications posted on their website. Aspiring models don't even need a portfolio or composite card. If accepted by Q, the agency works with them to build their portfolio. As with all reputable modeling agencies, Q doesn't charge a fee to view an aspiring model's photos.
